Follow "The Cross-Cultural Network of Hudson River Presbytery" blog to hear stories from the Network and receive inspiration for the journey:

The Cross-Cultural Network of the Hudson River Presbytery is a community of church leaders (pastors, clerks of counsel, church choir singers, deacons, elders, coffee-hour coordinators, and coffee-hour partakers) that meets together regularly to:

CONNECT –We meet together in one place to make visible the connections between us as we cross boundaries and build cross-cultural ministry in our individual churches. Isolation can prevent us from taking risks and stepping out to be the church God has called us to be. Our connections to one another increase our creativity and make us strong.

NURTURE – Together we are nourished by cross-cultural worship at our gatherings. Worship leading is shared and rotated among the network participants. Our worship, in its rich diversity of language, music style, leadership, and prayerful approaches to God, feeds and strengthens our spirits. We also share a meal together in which spirit and body are fed.

IMAGINE – We envision who God is calling us to be as a Cross-Cultural Network, as leaders of congregations, as sisters and brothers in Christ. We dream big and work together to build the foundations to support our visions. We listen together to God’s call and the Spirit’s leadings. We see the reconciled church as holy ground where people of every culture, every generation, every tongue, and every talent gather to encounter God.

Our work to “Connect, Nurture, and Imagine” is guided and supported by the Presbyterian Multicultural Network, the offices of Cross-Cultural Ministries and Multicultural Ministries in the GAMC, the Synod of the Northeast, Hudson River Presbytery and member churches.

The Cross-Cultural Network Coordinator:

Sarah Henkel joined the Hudson River Presbytery staff in November 2011 to facilitate the deepening and strengthening of the Cross-Cultural Network. She is available to any and all churches in the Presbytery who are seeking to celebrate the differences in their congregations and communities. Invite her to preach, teach, or celebrate with your congregation. Contact her at sarah@hudrivpres.org or (914) 941-2100.
